I’m Wendy Burdett, Owner and Principal Designer of Design Essentials PNW.
With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in transforming homes through expert property merchandising, interior styling, and thoughtful design. I’m proud to be a Certified Staging Professional® (CSP®) and Allied Member of ASID, combining recognized credentials with over two decades of industry experience to bring style, strategy, and results to every project.
At Design Essentials PNW, I focus on high-impact transformations—crafting market-ready properties and timeless interiors for homeowners, builders, and real estate professionals. With a background rooted in both creative vision and practical execution, I approach each space with the goal of maximizing its potential—whether for sale, renovation, or long-term living.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked independently and with some of the most prestigious firms in model home merchandising, earning national awards including MAME, ELAN, Gold Nugget, and Silver Nugget. I’ve partnered with top builders, developers, and architects to deliver standout results in residential, hospitality, and new construction markets.
A highlight of my career was serving as Art Director and Design Stylist for HGTV’s Restored series, where I led the visual and design direction for historic home transformations—balancing architectural integrity with modern functionality. Working hands-on with trades and project teams, I ensured that each design told a story and honored the past while supporting the home’s future.
Beyond design, I have a passion for photography, which sharpens my perspective and deepens my appreciation for light, texture, and form. This creative lens not only enriches my design work but allows me to see and shape spaces in meaningful, visually impactful ways.
With a strong foundation in project management, builder collaboration, and interior detailing, I founded Design Essentials PNW to provide a comprehensive, client-focused experience—from concept to completion. My work is rooted in the proven principles of CSP® staging and a deep commitment to thoughtful, personalized design. Whether preparing a property for market or transforming it into a space to truly live in, my approach is always strategic, aesthetic, and results-driven.
I’m proud to serve clients across the Puget Sound region—and equally proud to support the vibrant community I call home. From collaborating with local businesses to participating in neighborhood events (often with Sadie, my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, in tow), I believe that design is most impactful when it’s grounded in connection. Creating beautiful homes starts with investing in the people and places around them.
